IFOR’S MISSION

    STRAIGHTFORWARD AND UNIQUE

To unite all outdoor resource user groups and conservationists (ex. hunters, fishermen, trappers, trail riders, etc.), dedicated to preserving, restoring and developing the State's natural resources, and to provide a professional liaison to the Illinois Legislature and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), to protect sportmen's rights and recreational opportunities; and to work together to ensure long-term, adequate dedicated funding for, and professional management of, the IDNR.

IFOR is a unique coalition of individuals and organizations. We are one of the most unusual Sportsmen’s groups because we do not blow the horn or promote the cause of any special interest group. IFOR represents all outdoorsmen and women, all sportsmen, all recreational users. We believe it is critical for all of us to band together under one umbrella organization to form a united front against those who would take from us that which is rightfully ours.

Our membership has increased annually as Illinois outdoor recreational users become increasingly aware of the need to band and work together and become aware of the effectiveness and strong united voice IFOR brings to the table. Over 100 organizations have joined IFOR and with our individual membership we now represent over 75,000 users of Illinois outdoor resources. By uniting, groups will be strengthened and help each other to achieve their goals and objectives through this Federation.
